I am so impressed with the writing that these second graders are producing!  It is FABULOUS!!!!!  They are integrating the lessons I've done into their Weekend News and everything!  Yipee!!!!  We will be talking about doing a published piece of writing together.  Each child will draft, edit, revise, and publish (type) a personal narrative.  It will be the culmination of this unit and will be finished by November 22.

In math, we are working through double digit subtraction with regrouping.  Subtraction is typically difficult for second graders.  We keep plugging along.  Ask about the poems I showed them today.  It helps with subtraction (More on top, no need to stop; More on the floor, go next door, take a ten and start again; Numbers the same? Zero's the game!)

In word work, we talked about the phonics rule of the week: double letters at the end of the short vowel word.  We practiced making words.

We made paper chain necklaces to wear for the 3B's parade on Thursday.  Don't forget to dress in black and yellow that day!
