Happy Monday!
This morning, Mrs. Jones came in to do empty number line with us.  You should ask your child about this activity.  There is some serious mental math happening in here!  We then looked at renaming numbers with a different amount of blocks. This is an activity that will get us ready for subtracting and regrouping.

In writing, we reread Twilight Comes Twice by Ralph Fletcher. This is one of my favorite picture books. The description is amazing! We talked about using sensory details in our writing. Students identified the details Fletcher used in his book and then tried using some of these type of details in their Weekend News. It was fun to see what each child did with this assignment.

In word work, we have 5 new words: across, off, your, small, still

We read aloud Gooney Bird Greene and then did the work board. We have new activities that go with Word Work on the work board.  Ask your child!
