It was another HOT day today! We had lots of drinks but having a water bottle is greatly appreciated! Thank you for sending those in. It helps a lot.
We had a lot of visitors today. Mrs. Wood came in to speak with us about one of our classmates. Mrs. Alibrandi came in to talk about the library and to read us a book. Mrs. Math Jones came in to read us a book and talk a little about math. Mr. Carozza talked to us a little over the intercom about the anniversary of Martin Luther King, Jr's speech today. We had a fire drill and a tour of the classroom. Students began to think about their hopes and dreams for second grade. I related this to MLK's dreams. We will finalize these goals next week.
I sent home some "homework" tonight. I would like students to put 5 things in the bag that I gave them. The five things need to be about themselves. They should not put a name on the bag. We will reveal the bags next week in class and try to guess whose is whose. Thanks for your help with this. Let me know if you have any questions.
Also, I am in need of overflow snacks (Goldfish, animal crackers, applesauce, crackers) for our friends who forget their snacks. Also, I would love a supply of plastic spoons. If girls could bring hand sanitizer and boys could bring a box of tissues, I would so appreciate it! Finally, if you are shopping and would like to donate Dry Erase markers, we would love some for our room. Thank you so much!
Have a great long weekend!
